The Computer Specialist is responsible for supporting all computer related requirements to include but not limited to software, hardware, and operating system(s) work performed at Det 9 / TRSS Luke AFB, AZ and is a direct report to the Site Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Uses specialized computer software and/or hardware to develop, integrate and edit instructional text, audio, graphics, animation, and video for interactive presentations.
Uses appropriate programming/branching logic and screen layout and remediation/feedback techniques.
Implements quality control and review and revision procedures throughout the courseware development process.
Designing and implementing modifications to existing computer programs and software code, analyzing performance of existing computer programs and software code, and taking action to correct deficiencies based on input from users and other stakeholders
Monitoring the operation of computer programs and responding to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and software coding.
Applying judgement in devising program logic and in selecting and adapting standard programming procedures.
Solving conventional programming problems.
Reviewing and analyzing detailed software program specifications.
Working independently under specified objectives.
Testing and documenting work.
Writing and maintaining operator instructions for computer programs.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Language Skills:
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex word and technical documents/diagrams. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English language professional journals, technical procedures, government specifications or industry standards. Will be required to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Must be able to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts, prices, commissions, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to produce, understand, and interpret mathematical equations and algorithms associated with simulation modeling and design.
Reasoning Ability:
Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
