Position Summary
Holton-Arms invites applications for the full-time position of Computer Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Established in 2019, the Computer Science Department is growing to meet the diverse needs and interests of our students. Interested applicants should have a strong background in Computer Science and be knowledgeable in Computer Science education.  The successful candidate is innovative, collaborative, and able to teach a robust Upper School Computer Science curriculum, grades 9-12 (including computer programming, robotics, app development, web development, and 3D printing).
Creativity and an eagerness to collaborate with colleagues in advancing the school’s strategic initiatives are essential.  We seek individuals who are eager to help build a lasting computer science program in grades 3-12.  The successful candidate will collaborate with the computer science department on pedagogy and curriculum to ensure a meaningful scope and sequence across all grade levels. They must be student centered educators, passionate about technology and computer science, creative and collaborative, self-directed, have a great sense of humor, and be committed to reflection and continual growth. This is a full-time, 10-month position and part of the school’s Computer Science department.
Responsibilities
Upper School Computer Science - Grades 9-12
Introduction to Computer Science
Introduction to Python
Sequential levels of Python
Robotics and Programming with Python
Other courses offered by the 3-12 CS department as needed
Bot Ball Competition Coach
Work closely with the Computer Science Department, sharing a genuine passion for evolving curriculum and pedagogy.
Qualifications & Experiences
Bachelor's degree
Significant experience teaching school age children
Experience teaching in programming languages, specifically Python, Java Script, and Java
Experience designing, launching, and supporting computer science initiatives related to teaching and learning.
Experience working with students at the Upper School level

Salary & Benefits
The average salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000, the exact salary to be determined based on education and experience. We use a step scale to determine teacher salary. Additional stipends are available for coaching, certain club sponsorship and significant commitments outside of the classroom.
