About the Position

Dexis is seeking a Computer Operator IV to support a large-scale Army test and evaluation program. The project provides data collection, technical writing, computer operations, range scheduling, and administrative support services necessary to execute the government’s test mission. Support encompasses testing of a wide variety of automotive, combat, electronic, general equipment, and ordnance materiel, with services including data collection and coordination, data compilation and processing, development and management of data collection forms, test monitoring, technical writing and editorial review, reporting, data and software administration, range scheduling, and related operational support.

The Computer Operator IV provides advanced computer operations support for complex test projects, including management of customized electronic data-entry forms, data flow monitoring, reporting, and system requirements. The role identifies and resolves routine technical problems involving data collection software and databases and may provide software training to users.

Work will be performed primarily onsite in Aberdeen, Maryland, with travel to other locations within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) as required by mission needs. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Support functional users of computer systems by accepting processing requirements and preparing them for execution.
  • Set up and maintain test projects, suggest improvements, and customize electronic data-entry forms for complex projects.
  • Use web-enabled data management systems such as ODIN and VDLS to track and monitor data flow.
  • Use application tools such as Cognos to query databases and produce professional reports based on user requirements.
  • Monitor daily data flow to identify errors or anomalies for corrective action.
  • Work with users and personnel from within the government organization and other agencies to formulate requirements that may result in system modifications.
  • Identify and resolve routine technical problems involving data collection software and databases.
  • Provide user training on software packages as required.
  • Operate in a Secret environment in accordance with required security procedures and regulations when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies or a related field such as Information Technology, Information Management Systems, or Computer Technology and four (4) years of experience; OR an Associate’s degree in Computer Studies or a related field and six (6) years of experience; OR eight (8) years of experience using data-entry software tools in a Windows environment and industry-standard reporting tools such as IBM Cognos, Microsoft Access, or Crystal Reports.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must possess a high school diploma.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned functions, which may include working in extreme heat or cold, high humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, at heights, and walking distances over unimproved terrain while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be available to support work outside normal duty hours when required by mission needs.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within CONUS and OCONUS as required.
