The Work You Will Do:
Computer Operator III / Support Services / Office of Administration
Provides a variety of security and administrative support duties associated with access control for Department of Transportation (DOT) Central Office facilities and front desk operations. Specific duties include creating building access cards/ID badges, take ID badge photographs and print access cards/ID badges. Maintain files and record retention of all building access request forms, visitor access records, public records requests, and video footage ensuring that record retention requirements are met.
Maintains and operates a variety of databases and systems: SiPass access control, SiVeillance video and surveillance monitoring, Verkada Command visitor check-in and tracking, Tririga reserved parking contracts, electronic facility directory, analyzes and provides solutions for multiple systems. This position assists with executive management with data and access reporting.
Assist with emergency building evacuations and fire drills, monitoring the fire alarm panel and reporting alarm events to the unit supervisor.
Back-up for the main switchboard for the department as needed. Receive and route incoming calls to the appropriate office, district, or staff.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Perform building security activities to include: check in visitors using the automated Lobby Tracking System, Coordinate with offices to escort visitors, maintain Lobby Track visitor filing system, monitor visitor access to ensure that unauthorized visitors are prohibited from entering the facility, contact 9-1-1 in the event of a security or medical emergency in the building or on the grounds, use radio equipment to call for assistance, monitor the fire alarm panel and report alarm events to the unit supervisor or management team, immediately contact the unit supervisor and management team in the event of any building related emergency, and assist with building evacuations. Provide backup to the security desk senior clerk as needed, including but not limited to daily coverage for lunch/breaks, walking patrols of the building exterior and parking lots, and issuing parking permits.
Provides a variety of security database and administrative support duties associated with operating and maintaining the Enterprise Access Control System (EACS) for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Specific duties include: Database and application support. Work with FDOT staff statewide on the completion of security access requests and multi-district clearance approval via the automated work order system. Create security badges by entering or editing access and clearance level information in the EACS system for FDOT employees, contractors, and other personnel statewide who are authorized permanent and temporary access into FDOT facilities. Take identification photographs using digital camera and transfer photos onto badges. Terminate badge access in the system. Maintain paper and electronic files for access request forms and ensure that record retention requirements are met. Generate and run database reports statewide on EACS that will include but not limit to: Active and inactive building access badges, access control equipment for FDOT facilities, access and security levels, clearance levels, authorized/unauthorized entry to specific areas, system failure notifications, and other related access control reports. Run parking tag inventory reports for Central Office authorized parking.
Operate and monitor camera surveillance equipment for Central Office facilities during normal working hours. These duties include monitoring cameras that cover the parking lot, exterior walkways, and the building interior. Associated duties include reporting and malfunctioning cameras/video surveillance equipment to the Security Manager or Facilities Manager. Assist the manager in reviewing and downloading surveillance video upon request.
Coordinate morning and afternoon security activities with the contract security guard force that works after normal hours. These duties include the following: Monitoring guard reports and reporting unusual activities to the unit supervisor, keeping the security manuals updated and in a neat/organized manner, working with the contract guard staff during change of shift to ensure that instructions/information is properly coordinated to enhance security operations, keeping the desk area in a neat/organized manner.
