York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. The Computer Networking Tutor performs the following functions:
  • Troubleshooting connectivity and configuration issues with virtualized Windows and Linux servers and workstations, subnetting, binary conversion, and MindTap for Microsoft Office applications.
  • Facilitates students completing tasks for the those tutoring.
  • Completion of IST 188, IST 201, IST 252, and IST 221 preferred.

Examples of duties

  • A high school diploma and at least one year related experience
  • Students or recent graduates of our Information Technology or Computer Engineering Technology programs are encouraged to apply
  • GPA of 2.5 or above recommended

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge or experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other PC based productivity software
  • Understanding of common PC and network hardware as well as an advanced knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, OSI, Windows Server, VM, subnetting, and net addressing).
