Under the direction of the Crime Information Bureau (CIB) Chief, the incumbent in this position works closely with the CIB Chief, Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Director, Information Technology Services (ITS) partners, and other program leaders to formulate overall goals and objectives, address policy and operational needs, and oversees the functionality and integrity of the technical systems maintained by the Crime Information Bureau. The individual in this position will prioritize projects, plan workloads, plan technical implementations in conjunction with ITS, identify objectives, and report progress based on Bureau, Division, and agency goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Prioritizing, planning, coordinating, and participating in the research, evaluation, development, and implementation of process and technical changes related to the Computerized Criminal History Repository and Biometric Identification Solution system;
  • Participating in the overall management, planning and policy development of the Repository Services Unit, the Bureau and Division;
  • Acts as liaison with internal and external customers regarding criminal justice data.
  • Prioritizing, planning, coordinating, and participating in annual, bi-annual, quarterly, and as needed system audits and synchronizations; and
  • Preparing periodic performance evaluations on employees and makes recommendations for promotions pertinent to the Section.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. At least 2 years of experience with criminal justice systems; and
  2. At least 1 year of supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to effectively oversee and coordinate simultaneous projects or objectives;
  • Knowledge of the methods of data analysis;
  • Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data;
  • Ability to understand and comply with state and federal guidelines;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BASE SALARY:

  • $71,440.98

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
