ABOUT THE Division

General description

The Information Technology Division is seeking a skilled Salesforce Technical Administrator to support and enhance our Salesforce environment as we continue modernizing and expanding the platform. In this senior-level role, you will lead configuration, automation, governance, and platform management efforts while helping the agency prepare for a future multi org, enterprise Salesforce model.

Your daily responsibilities will include managing platform configuration, designing and maintaining complex Flows, supporting data integrations, coordinating releases, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring solutions align with security, compliance, and public sector standards. You will work closely with product owners, subject matter experts, and technical teams to translate business needs into well designed, scalable, user-focused solutions.

This role is a great fit for someone who is proactive, detail oriented, and comfortable working in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision. A strong candidate enjoys solving problems, communicating clearly with diverse stakeholders, and contributing to ongoing improvements that advance the agency’s long term Salesforce strategy.

Work Hours

Work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40-hour week, Monday - Friday. Occasionally work overtime and/or additional hours. Hours may change based on business need. Application support activities periodically require on-call responsibilities or work during non-standard hours.

Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must have permanent residency within the state of Texas and must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e. report to office 1 day/month, 3 days/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
• Six (6) years of working experience as a Salesforce administrator
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce architecture, declarative tools, and governance
• Experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes
• Experience in change management and governance
• Experience with Copado DevOps
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM and changing management processes.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems.
• Strong Salesforce product knowledge
• Application builds or management of Public Sector Solutions (PSS).
• Experience with Grant Management, Contract Management, Legislative applications, or AgentForce.
• Experience with Salesforce Government Cloud and Data Cloud for secure, scalable solutions.
• Experience with governance in multi-org environments.
• Experience with OmniStudio for guided processes and integrations.
• Knowledge of API integrations and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft).


Substitutions:

One (1) additional year of experience in Salesforce administration and development work may substitute for (30) thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).


Licenses/Certifications:

Required: Certified Salesforce Administrator

Preferred: Additional Salesforce certifications e.g., Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, Consultant


In this role you will:

Salesforce Administration & Governance in a Federated Org
• Administers configuration across multiple Salesforce orgs; enforces governance standards (metadata naming, change controls, CoE guidance).
• Manages users, licenses, roles, profiles, permission sets, and SSO; ensure least privilege access.
• Creates/maintains custom & standard objects, fields, record types, page layouts, Lightning pages, and Flows.
• Oversees sandbox strategy, release coordination, and environment parity for multi org deployments.

Declarative Development and Automation
• Designs and builds all types of Salesforce flows (Record-triggered, Screen, Scheduled, Orchestration) to automate complex business processes.
• Familiarizes with all declarative tools.
• Designs and implements customized solutions using Salesforce declarative tools.
• Masters Salesforce Data Model, Security Model, Automation Framework, and Salesforce Platform Management.
• Lightens customization, dynamic forms, and UI optimization.

Business Analysis, Requirements, and Quality Assurance
• Translates business needs into user stories with acceptance criteria, partner with product owners and SMEs.
• Ensures solutions align with CPA policies, Information Security Office and Data Management Office compliance standards, and public sector mandates.

Integrations, Data Management & Data Cloud Enablement
• Coordinates and supports API integrations (REST/SOAP) and middleware solutions (e.g., MuleSoft) in partnership with shared services and integration teams.
• Performs DocuSign integrations
• Maintains data feeds, ETL processes, and synchronization across Salesforce orgs and external systems.
• Supports Salesforce Data Cloud use cases, including data ingestion, identity resolution, and segment activation, ensuring proper data classification, governance, and retention.

DevOps, Release Management, Documentation & Reporting
• Configures and maintains DevOps in a Salesforce environment using Copado
• Coordinates deployments across development, test, and production environments.
• Maintains technical documentation, and configuration standards.
• Develops reports and dashboards to monitor system health, adoption, and compliance.

Security, Compliance, Audits & Gov Cloud Practices
• Implements and validates security controls consistent with Salesforce Government Cloud requirements.
• Conducts regular system audits, license/permission reviews, and support upgrade readiness.
• Documents security decisions, data handling, and change management artifacts.

Special Projects & Other Duties as Assigned
• Contributes to Center of Excellence initiatives, standards evolution, and cross‑org pilots.
• Assists with vendor management, RFP input, and executive briefings as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned
