
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Adhere to purchasing policies and practices to ensure highest quality, appropriate inventory levels, timely delivery, and competitive cost from suppliers.
2. Execute strategic sourcing plans to support company objectives.
3. Identify risks to SEL's supply chain and report to management; including overall market trends, capacity constraints, commodity risks, and business conditions for manufacturers and suppliers.
4. Create and improve supplier partnerships by identifying areas for improvement, escalating issues to management and executing corrective action plans in accordance with World Class Manufacturing principles.
5. Demonstrate and leads others on business professionalism, purchasing fundamentals, time management, data analytics, supply chain management, supplier development, cost reduction strategy development and negotiation techniques.
6. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
7. Understand. Create. Simplify.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
B.A./B.S. degree in business, operations, or supply chain; or a combination of relevant education and experience
Typically, 3 or more years of experience
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
Familiarity working with MRP/ERP systems
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications
APICS certification and/or ISM certification
Understanding of electronics technology, manufacturing methods and total quality process
Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
