The Fragrance Lab Compounder plays a key role in the development and assessment of perfumes and scented products. The position will provide technical perfumery support to co-create, ideate and incubate with Fragrance Houses, internal partners and external partners to create breakthrough innovations with the Estee Lauder Companies’ portfolio of brands.

As part of the ground-breaking Atelier team and fragrance Product Development organization, this role will be in service of the global brands, contributing to end-to-end fragrance support, boosting product innovation, driving go-to-market speed & agility, and enhance artisanal quality of ELC products. This individual will bring new fragrance capabilities to the enterprise as we grow and develop in this category, working closely with the Fragrance Analytical Chemist and Lab Owner.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for preparing perfume, cosmetics, skin and hair samples, including compounding of perfume accords.
  • Develop and maintain a library of fragrances and perfume ingredients
  • Ensure all lab assets are managed with the right testing and maintenance system.
  • Coordinate with R&D Operations team to ensure timely ingredient coding.
  • Create and/or improve compounding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for evaluations, methods and equipment
  • Structure and record data to support various innovation initiatives

Qualifications

  • College degree in relevent field of study
  • Prior experience working in a fragrance development laboratory
  • Self-motivated, pro-active
  • Interest in the fragrance industry
  • Conversational English is a plus
