The opportunity
We are currently looking to fill an attractive position with responsibility to lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and manufacturing of advanced composite structures. This role will be critical in driving innovation and ensuring the successful integration of composite materials into our cutting-edge products.
You will be part of Hitachi Energy’s competence center for fiber-reinforced polymer composites and silicone elastomers in Piteå. We are a team with world-class expertise and experience in realization, verification, and production of polymer composite products. The main products are structural and electrically insulating components used in high voltage transformers and switchgear which are vital for the transition to fossil free energy. Our customers are all over the world, both inside and outside Hitachi.
How you’ll make an impact
·Provide technical leadership in the design, analysis and qualification of advanced composites components for high voltage applications.
·Lead and contribute to R&D projects from concept to implementation. This may involve product design, process design and material development.
·Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. design, quality, SCM, production) to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver robust solutions, both within our local organization and in cooperation with customers, suppliers, and academia.
·Stay abreast of the latest advancements in composite materials, manufacturing techniques, and industry best practices.
·Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, manufacturing procedures, and test reports.
·Provide technical support to customers and our sales organization.
·Apply robust analytical and critical thinking to solve complex challenges and to perform comprehensive risk reviews.
·Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of agility, technical rigor and continuous improvement.
Your background
·MSc or PhD in Composites Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, High Voltage Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on composite materials.
·Extensive experience in product development or R&D roles within the composites or high-voltage equipment industry..
·Ability to cooperate and communicate both with experts at an academic level, as well as colleagues and project members with expertise in other areas
·Leadership experience in guiding teams and managing complex projects
·Communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English are mandatory requirements.
