Job Description

The Composite Repair Specialist II performs standard composite repairs with minimal supervision, reporting progress and findings directly to the Lead Technician. This role focuses on building independence in completing routine repairs and diagnostics.

Schedule: This is a weekend shift role. The schedule is Fri-Sat-Sun 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM (3 days, 12 hours each); 12% Weekend Shift Differential; Overtime as required

  • Please note that you will be required to train on one of the weekday shift schedules (either Mon-Thu 6:00 am to 4:30 pm or Mon-Thu 4:30 pm to 3:00 am) for 2-3 months. Once fully trained, you will begin working weekend shift.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Proficient with Composite Repair Specialist responsibilities plus
  • Assess minor damage to composite structures and execute repairs using established methods.
  • Perform basic lay-up processes, applying fiberglass or carbon fiber materials according to drawings or instructions.
  • Operate tools and equipment such as sanders, grinders, and vacuum systems to complete repairs.
  • Conduct routine non-destructive testing (NDT), such as visual inspections or tap testing, to identify defects.
  • Prepare repair documentation and submit findings to the Lead Technician for review.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of composite materials, including resins and adhesives.
  • Maintain adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations during repairs.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in composite repair or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using basic composite repair tools and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and repair guides.
  • Familiarity with curing processes and vacuum bagging techniques.
  • Basic computer skills for logging repair data and accessing digital blueprints.
