Road & Rail Services is looking for an experienced Locomotive Repair Mechanic who is ready to make Mulberry, Florida their new home base.
This opportunity is specifically for skilled professionals with previous hands-on experience inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing locomotives. Prior locomotive repair experience is required. This is not an entry-level position.

Once you relocate, you will primarily work on-site at our Mulberry, FL operation. Some travel to other railroad locations may be required to provide mechanical support based on customer and operational needs.
You'll be responsible for keeping locomotive equipment operating safely and reliably. Work may include:
Inspecting locomotives and identifying defects or maintenance concerns
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and operational problems
Troubleshooting diesel engines and locomotive components
Maintaining and repairing air and brake systems
Performing scheduled and preventive maintenance
Removing and replacing damaged, defective, or worn components
Completing electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repairs
Performing welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication
Reading wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and repair instructions
Using meters, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
Testing completed repairs before equipment is returned to service
Documenting inspections, maintenance, and repair work
Following company, customer, railroad, and applicable FRA safety requirements
We're seeking candidates who can bring established locomotive knowledge to our operation.
You must have previous professional locomotive maintenance and repair experience to qualify.
Strong candidates will have:
Hands-on diesel locomotive repair experience
Knowledge of locomotive mechanical and electrical systems
Experience troubleshooting diesel engines and related components
Knowledge of locomotive air, brake, and pneumatic systems
Mechanical diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
Welding and fabrication experience
Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
Experience using industrial and diagnostic tools
Ability to perform repairs with limited supervision
Strong commitment to railroad and industrial safety
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Willingness to relocate to Mulberry, Florida
Ability to travel periodically after relocation
Experience as a Locomotive Mechanic, Locomotive Repairman, Diesel Locomotive Mechanic, Composite Repairman, or Railroad Mechanical Technician is highly relevant.

After relocating, Mulberry will be your primary reporting location. This is not a 100% travel position; however, periodic travel may be necessary to support other projects and railroad operations.
$35.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
