Road & Rail Services is recruiting experienced locomotive repair professionals who are interested in relocating to Mulberry, Florida for a full-time mechanical position.
If you've spent your career maintaining and repairing diesel locomotives and are considering a move, this opportunity allows you to bring that experience to our Mulberry operation while earning $35.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
A relocation package will be available for eligible candidates.
Although you may see this position advertised outside Florida, the job itself is physically located in Mulberry, FL. Candidates selected from other areas will be expected to relocate. After the move, Mulberry will serve as your primary work location, with some travel to other sites or projects when additional mechanical support is needed.
We're searching for a mechanic who can bring established locomotive knowledge to the job.
Previous professional, hands-on locomotive maintenance and repair experience is required. This is not an entry-level locomotive mechanic position.

Similar railroad mechanical position
General automotive or diesel experience alone may not meet the experience requirements unless it includes direct locomotive maintenance and repair responsibilities.
As part of our mechanical operation, you will use your experience to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair locomotive equipment.
Responsibilities may include:
Conducting mechanical inspections of diesel locomotives
Locating and diagnosing equipment failures and performance concerns
Troubleshooting diesel engines and associated components
Servicing locomotive air and brake systems
Diagnosing electrical and pneumatic system problems
Completing scheduled maintenance and preventive service
Removing, repairing, and replacing defective components
Performing welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication as necessary
Using meters, diagnostic equipment, mechanical tools, and specialized railroad equipment
Reviewing schematics, wiring diagrams, service information, and technical manuals
Testing equipment following repairs
Recording inspection findings and completed maintenance
Ensuring work meets applicable company, customer, railroad, and FRA requirements
Maintaining safe work practices around locomotives and active railroad operations
We understand that relocating for a new position is a significant decision. That's why a relocation package will be available for eligible candidates who are selected for this opportunity.
Eligibility and relocation assistance will be determined according to company guidelines and the circumstances of the selected candidate.
Once relocation is complete, Mulberry, Florida will be your regular reporting location and primary worksite. This is not a position where you remain based in the city where the advertisement is posted.
Some travel will occur after relocation to assist with projects, customer needs, or locomotive repair work at other locations. The amount and duration of travel may vary depending on operational requirements.
$35.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
