The role is primarily remote, with occasional on-site visits to the client’s location in Győr, Hungary, depending on project needs.
The Mission
As the Component Responsible (BTV), you will hold end-to-end accountability for engine components, sensors, and actuators within a high-stakes automotive environment. You will guide these components through the entire Product Development Process (PEP), ensuring they meet technical quality standards, strict timelines, and supplier reliability requirements until they reach series production and successful vehicle integration.
Key Responsibilities
Full Lifecycle Management: Take total responsibility for sensors and actuators across both the development and series production phases.
Process Coordination: Steer and coordinate component milestones along the entire VW Product Development Process (PEP).
Change Management: Create, evaluate, and present Engineering Change Requests (ECR/ECO) to ensure technical feasibility and project alignment.
Target Achievement: Monitor and ensure strict compliance with project timelines, cost constraints, and quality targets.
Technical Documentation: Manage the creation, maintenance, and official release of datasets and all associated technical documentation.
Supplier & Stakeholder Steering: Perform technical evaluations for supplier selection and manage ongoing supplier performance while coordinating with internal departments and external partners.
Risk & Series Readiness: Conduct risk assessments, implement mitigation measures, and support the ramp-up phases to ensure seamless series production.
System Releases: Prepare and support release recommendations within specific customer systems to finalize component approval.
Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience within the automotive engineering sector.
Proven experience in component responsibility (BTV) or a closely related cross-functional engineering role.
Deep, fundamental knowledge of the VW Product Development Process (PEP) and associated change management/release processes.
Strong technical understanding of sensors and actuators within powertrain and integration environments.
Practical experience using industry-specific databases and tools such as: HyperKVS, Connect, LCS, VPM, TI-Warehouse, NOLIS, and BMG-Online; ASL, AVON, ESON, TEVON, MBT, STEREO, TI Syncro, and ECA/ECA NG.
Skilled in supplier management, project/timeline management, and formal risk management methods.
Proficiency in German and English is required; Hungarian language is a plus.
