Position:

Component Quality Engineer

What You’ll Be Doing
• Converge Component Quality Engineer (CQE) represents Converge as an electronics product expert
• The CQE will work closely with Distribution, Sales, Purchasing, Commodity Management, Quality Assurance group, when applicable
• The CQE will provide detailed product inspection (level II) as mandated by corporate procedures and checklists to validate/verify product authenticity, markings, condition and offer documented, factual information for Sales and/or Commodity Management to determine disposition when applicable.

Investigate and inspect discrepant product from Purchase Orders, Sales orders, and Customer Returns (product ranges from Semiconductor, capacitors and passive type parts)

• Inspect product under magnification to validate product markings, condition, and authenticity.
• Research various websites or paid subscriptions to databases to find and read product datasheets.
• Take photos to send with documented information as evidence and store, when applicable
• Take physical measurements of product to ensure authenticity, when applicable
• Perform Authenticity Testing
• Confirm RoHS/Lead Free compliance via part markings, date codes, etc.
• Confirms product Moisture Sensitivity level (MSL) when applicable
• Attends to customer issues, provides root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Investigate product questions from Global Trade
Assists the Quality Assurance Dept
• Provides technical guidance and testing for Corrective & Preventative Actions

What We Are Looking For.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 3 years’ experience in semiconductor or electronics industry or Associates Degree in Engineering required with at least 5 years’ experience in semiconductor or electronics industry

• 3+ year of recent related working experience in Front of line or End of Line process in a Semiconductor company. Also have knowledge and experience in processes like Die attach, Wirebonding, Molding, Marking, Solder ball attached, Final Visual inspection and packing of electronic parts.
• Experience in Semiconductor or Contract Equipment Manufacturing Environment preferred
• Knows some basic Failure analysis methodology such as Decapsulation, Solderability and basic functional/electrical testing.
• Knows how to operate X-ray machines, Decap machine, Baking Oven and other basic electronics testing tools/equipment
• Experience with inspection and classification of various semiconductor and electronic parts.
• Working knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) in handling components in an Electrostatic Protective Area (EPA) required.
• Knowledge in RoHS requirement is preferred
• Basic understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management System preferred.
• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing workload and business pressures.
• Strong written, verbal communication and prioritizing skills.
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft software applications, e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
