Component Manager Aluminium Auto/E-Mobility (m/f/d)

Walter is seeking an Aluminium Specialist who thrives on challenge and opportunity. As a Component Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing a competitive product portfolio that addresses market needs and fuels profitable business growth. Your expertise will help us deliver cutting-edge solutions to the Automotive industry, ensuring Walter’s continued success and leadership within this dynamic sector.

Your Mission:

  • Be at the forefront of “Aluminium Machining” development, guiding the component strategy of tools for the automotive industry and driving our ambitious Elevate 2030 initiative.
  • A key element of your role will be to develop and implement innovative solutions for high-potential components and transversal application operations and features, ensuring our offerings meet evolving market demands.
  • You will shape best practices for focus applications and empower our sales teams to uncover and seize new business opportunities.
  • Another part of your mission will be to champion and promote Walter’s portfolio of products, solutions, and services to expand our market footprint and deliver value to both existing and prospective customers.
  • You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Business Development to transform market and customer insights into impactful solutions.
  • Another key responsibility will be to build and nurture strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders, research institutions, and associations—your network will drive innovation.
  • Empower sales teams by actively gathering and sharing best practices to enhance local execution and maximize business opportunities – will also be part of your mission.
  • You will stay ahead of the curve by evaluating the latest technical market trends and keeping a watchful eye on competitor offerings.
  • You will develop business proposals collaboratively with Product Managers, leveraging your expertise to drive innovative solutions.
  • You will monitor progress of target achievement and take proactive steps to ensure success.
  • Design and manage platforms for information gathering and exchange, fostering collaboration and excellence across teams – will also be a key element of your role.

Your Profile:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or possess an equivalent technical qualification.
  • You bring substantial professional experience with metalworking products in the automotive industry, ideally with advanced expertise in complex PCD applications.
  • You are a strategic thinker with the ability to identify long-term developments and trends
  • You demonstrate excellent training and presentation skills and are confident in delivering content to both large audiences and small groups
  • You demonstrate the ability to develop, maintain, and manage professional networks
  • You communicate effectively in diverse and international environments
  • You bring extensive practical expertise in PCD, Solid Carbide, and Indexable Insert applications within automotive machining
  • You show openness and motivation for both domestic and international travel, representing the organization confidently on a global level
