The Accreditation Compliance Specialist works with the Director of Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance to assure that UAMS is in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and certification standards and assure that UAMS maintains continual readiness for accreditation and regulatory surveys. The Program Manager coordinates our policy review process and administers our policy management information system.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Business or related field of study plus two (2) years of experience in compliance documentation review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission regulations.

Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

  • Ability to follow oral instruction, read, and write.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Provide portfolio that includes samples demonstrating technical writing, macro-system management, and Microsoft Office capabilities

Job Requirements:

The Compliance Specialist coordinates our clinical contract review process, and assures quarterly data reports and annual reviews are submitted and approved.

Along with the Director, the Compliance Specialist staffs and supports Medical Center Committees including Inspection Readiness Committee, Medical Center Policy Review Committee, and Clinical Contracts Committee, The Compliance Specialist maintains knowledge and expertise in Accreditation Standards and the policies and processes within UAMS Health.

  • Monitor company operations for regulatory compliance
  • Research and interpret laws, regulations, and policy changes
  • Develop and update compliance policies and procedures
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments
  • Investigate compliance violations or complaints
  • Prepare compliance reports for management or regulators
  • Train employees on compliance requirements and ethical standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Work with legal, HR, finance, or operations teams to resolve issues
  • Recommend corrective actions and process improvements
  • Ensure licenses, certifications, and filings stay current
  • Assist during external audits or regulatory inspection
  • Review contracts, transactions, or employee activities
  • Check documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Track deadlines for regulatory filings
  • Analyze data for potential compliance risks
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries
  • Update compliance tracking systems
  • Create training materials and presentations
  • Perform other duties as needed.
