As a member of our family-owned business, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the company’s compliance with customs and trade regulations. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external authorities to ensure regulatory adherence, support smooth stock movement, and strengthen governance, risk management, and compliance capabilities across the organization.

Your new job includes

• Primary point of contact for Customs authorities, conduct risk assessment, oversee customs documentation control, duty and tax declaration processing, customs inspection follows up and maintenance of compliance records to ensure audit readiness.
• A go-to person for topics relating to compliance matters and advise the Management and other team members of changes in regulatory requirements, policies and procedures as well as identifying risks and liabilities that may impact the business.
• Work closely with the Customs’ Compliance Officers to ensure that systems/platforms linked with Customs contain accurate data (eg: HS Code), and where there is discrepancy, resolved timely with minimal disruption to the business.
• Draft policies and procedures and other communications necessary to align with our internal policies with local and governmental regulations and ensure that Management and People Manager approve the content and circulation of the information.
• Liaising with internal and external parties on tariff codes for purchases and identify potential exemptions.
• Plan and lead custom stock take with relevant office, retail and warehouse teams, provide timely reporting and work with all departments on any follow-up actions.
• Supervise inventory reconciliation and stock registration for inbound from warehouse to retail stores to ensure accurate trade and logistic records.
• Train and educate other members within the Company of any updated processes and rulings.

Preferred Profile

• Minimum Diploma in Supply Chain, Business or related field
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian import/export regulations, customs clearance, permit applications or a similar operational role.
• Candidate with prior experience in freight & forwarding custom declarations and familiar working with Malaysian government authorities is highly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and contribute operational improvement ideas.
