In this role, you will work alongside experienced Compliance Safety Health Officers (CSHOs), conduct hazard assessments, and help maintain safe working environments while enjoying state benefits, autonomy, and continuous professional growth.
What You’ll Do
- Field Inspections & Investigations: Partner with CSHOs to inspect job sites, evaluate physical, electrical, fall, and trenching hazards, interview personnel, and gather evidence.
- Technical Documentation: Research employer histories using OSHA eTools, log inspection data in Salesforce, and draft technical narrative reports.
- Hazard Abatement Tracking: Evaluate employer remediation evidence to confirm hazards are fully corrected.
- Public & Regulatory Support: Field public inquiries and serious incident reports via phone or walk-in, providing clear OSHA guidance.
- Continuous Improvement: Engage in Arizona Management System (AMS) lean practices (gemba walks, huddle boards, team problem-solving) and complete technical safety training modules.
What We’re Looking For
- Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA standards, codes, and hazard recognition across construction, general industry, and agricultural settings.
- Technical & Data Skills: Proficiency in physical measurement tools, photographic documentation, and software tools (Salesforce, Google Suite, Excel).
- Communication & Writing: Strong oral communication for interviews and clear narrative writing skills for technical reports.
- Preferred Experience: An Associate degree in Safety/Environmental Science (or OSHA/ADOSH coursework), experience with root cause accident analysis, or prior involvement on workplace safety committees.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Driver’s License: Valid, class-appropriate driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (for positions requiring state vehicle operation).
- Employment Eligibility: Successful completion of E-Verify.
- Location: All work (including remote work) must be performed within Arizona.
