About the Role:

The Compliance Officer supports the effective operation of the schools' compliance programme through the administration, monitoring, implementation and reporting of regulatory, accreditation, audit and governance requirements. The role serves as the operational lead for day-to-day compliance activities and works closely with departments to ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and internal policies.

Job Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

• Perform data gathering and document production associated with meeting the requirements of compliance, including but not limited to, responsibility for:

- SWDA (or equivalent) Enhanced Regulatory Framework (ERF) on Premises, Courses and Modules, Teachers Registration, Academic and Examination Board, Managers and Annual Returns;

- SWDA (or equivalent) EduTrust Years 1 & 3 desktop submissions, Year 2 interim site inspections and Year 4 Renewal Site Inspection

- SWDA student contract/addendum templates in compliance to SWDA (or equivalent)

• Develop a working knowledge amongst the teaching and support community of all areas of compliance applicable to the school (including but not limited to SWDA laws and regulations)

• Support timely submissions and reporting to SWDA and relevant authorities on any school related compliance requirements

• Prepare and support all internal and external audits, including Edutrust audits, and to assist in addressing audit findings, observations and corrective actions promptly

• Assist auditors and/or inspectors in compliance reviews either onsite or through submissions

• Support Academic function in other academic related accreditations (COBIS, BSO, FOBISIA and other Association memberships)

• Support employees on regulatory requirements, internal audit and any other compliance related trainings

• Maintain compliance trackers, audit logs and reports for management review, where necessary

Policy management:

• Ensure all policies and procedures relating to compliance have been appropriately approved and documented within the school, maintaining proper document control and version management of all such policies and records

• Maintain a centralised e-filing system within which to maintain compliance and policy documents

Student contract and Vendor compliance:

• Maintain student contract templates in line with SWDA requirements

• Support each School’s annual student contract renewal process

• Vendor Contract Management: Maintain up to date vendor management repository. Develop and guide colleagues in implementing effective data management policies and processes aligned with data protection requirement.

Data governance support:

• Support the implementation of data strategy, policies, processes, and controls to ensure data security, including regular review of existing policies for relevance and effectiveness.

• Establish clear protocols and procedures for secure and responsible data sharing

• Assist with data audits and support implementation of data protection and governance requirements

Position Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in compliance, quality assurance or regulatory roles, preferably in local private education industry

• Functional knowledge of SWDA (previously known as SSG), compliance and regulatory resources and issues

• Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks, knowledge of SWDA, CIS, WASC is an advantage

• Participation in a Total Quality Management System team, preferred

• Data management skills, working knowledge of the principle of data management and administration

• Analytical skills and problem-solving ability

• Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to work cooperatively with others to resolve problems/issues.

• Strong organisationa​l skills with ability to multi-task and prioritise work, able to manage high volume workflow and deadlines

• Ability to work independently and be a strong team player

• High level of professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree

Working Hours:

8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday
