Job Description

The successful candidate for this position will report to EMEA and APAC Head of Control Group and Global Head of Business Selection and Conflicts and will assist in the management of the firm’s conflicts clearance processes. They will have substantial analytical skills and judgment that will enable them to identify, escalate, and resolve a variety of complex conflicts issues. The candidate must also possess substantial initiative and drive that will allow them to assist with broader projects around reviewing, and where applicable, upgrading and implementing changes to the firm’s conflicts-clearance and related technology systems. In addition, this position will require working on other compliance-related initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities would include:

  • Provide support / leverage to the EMEA and APAC Head of Control Group and the conflicts clearance team
  • Act as the Control Group team’s primary point of contact and primary escalations point for potential conflicts of interest in relation to EMEA and APAC transactions
  • Identify potential transactional conflicts of interest and escalate accordingly to the appropriate legal and business contacts
  • Analyse the firm’s touchpoints with companies to determine the existence of potential conflicts of interest
  • Formulate recommendations for addressing potential conflicts of interest
  • Document the analysis for clearing conflicts and the relevant mechanisms used
  • Obtain updates from deal teams in relation to transactions
  • Enhance the firm’s systems for reviewing, documenting and clearing conflicts checks
  • Assisting in drafting and coordinate firmwide responses to regulatory requests and examinations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience working at an international financial services firm in conflicts clearance or conflicts management positions
  • Strong analytical, issue-identifying and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively
  • Substantial initiative and drive
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently but also be a good team player
  • Experience responding to regulatory examinations, inquiries and requests
