The Mission

The Compliance Frameworks & Policies team is part of the Group Compliance domain within ING within the Compliance Frameworks & Control (CF&C) department. The team plays a critical role in shaping and maintaining ING’s global compliance risk management framework, ensuring consistent methodologies, tools, and reporting across all business lines and geographies. And supports the management of the global compliance function and its processes. The team supports the development, implementation and continuous improvement of global compliance frameworks, policies, and methodologies. It ensures that ING’s compliance risk management cycle is effective, more data driven, and aligned with regulatory expectations and internal standards. The function serves all ING entities globally, enabling consistent compliance practices and insights across the bank. The role requires deep expertise in compliance and non-financial risk.

Your day to day

As Compliance Frameworks & Policies Specialist, you are part of global team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining ING’s compliance risk management frameworks, methodologies and reporting. You will oversee compliance data driven reporting, and transformation initiatives. You will support the global Compliance function and functional processes to ensure efficient and effective functional management. You will work closely with stakeholders across the bank and regulators to ensure ING’s compliance practices are robust, data-driven, and future-proof. This role is ideal for a specialist with deep compliance expertise and a passion for driving global change and continuous improvement.

You are part of a team of specialists that works on the following tasks:

  • The team works on delivery of a global compliance framework that meets regulator’s expectations. This includes design of complex processes, such as Risk Assessments, Horizon Scanning, Risk Appetite, Policy House, and Monitoring. You will ensure that our governance on internal control meets EBA standards.
  • The team coordinates parts of the implementation of the compliance framework globally. This also includes associated training and awareness efforts.
  • The team liaises with a diverse stakeholder landscape within all Compliance locations, the Compliance Risk Verticals and ensure alignment with the Risk & Capital Integration team, Corporate ORM, NFR, Integrated Risk, ODCR and COO Risk.
  • The team drives global functional steering and operations with main focus on global Compliance (functional) processes, global OneCompliance workforce and budgeting, Hub sourcing strategy and support, global OneCompliance messaging and Group Compliance NFR issue management
  • The team oversees the Compliance Cockpit and portfolio analysis dashboards to provide global insights into compliance risks
  • The team manages relationships with HR, Finance, NFR, and other key stakeholders to ensure efficient compliance operations
  • The team facilitates reporting on compliance risks and progress to internal and external stakeholders, including regulators
  • The team leads global transformation programs within Compliance

What you’ll bring to the team

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of specialist experience in compliance or non-financial risk
  • You have technical knowledge of compliance frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory expectations and strong analytical skills and able to see interconnection between frameworks
  • You are experience in elements like EBA guidelines on Compliance, the NFR Framework, ING's GRC tooling, Internal Control Binding Principles, ERM Framework, Compliance Risk Management comprising Risk Appetite, Horizon Scanning, Risk Assessments, the Policy House, and Risk Monitoring
  • You have the ability to work in and with diverse teams and functions with conflicting priorities and in different geographical locations
  • You work on common goals and you inspire, motivate and help others to succeed
  • You have experience in data-driven compliance risk insights and reporting
  • You are an energetic, motivating person who can work in a multidisciplinary setting
  • You work independently, think and act out of the box and assume accountability
  • You have an excellent level of English (verbal/written).
