Presently, we are in search of a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team in Shanghai and ensure that our operations in the Greater China region align with both legal and ethical standards. The position is based in Shanghai, China and reports to the Head of Compliance & Ethics, Greater China.

What you'll do

  • Drive the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of compliance policies, procedures, and programs across Greater China, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and monitoring activities to identify emerging risks, evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Serve as the primary compliance contact for export control and trade compliance matters in China, while partnering with headquarters to implement global export control and trade sanctions programs, including regulatory monitoring, risk assessment, policy deployment, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Manage end-to-end compliance investigations, including allegation assessment, fact-finding, witness interviews, evidence review, reporting of findings, and oversight of remediation efforts.
  • Advise and support business stakeholders on compliance matters and develop and deliver compliance communications and training programs to promote awareness of legal, regulatory, and company requirements.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Law or a related discipline; relevant compliance certifications are a plus.
  • At least 5 years of compliance experience in multinational corporations and/or financial institutions, with strong knowledge of Greater China compliance requirements, including PRC export control and trade sanctions laws, and familiarity with applicable U.S. and EU regulations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and compliance.
  • Strong English communication and drafting skills, with the ability to interpret regulations, provide practical compliance advice, and communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
