Compliance & Enterprise Risk Management Co-op

Position Summary

The Compliance & Enterprise Risk Management Co-op will have the opportunity to work with multiple teams on various projects; learning about corporate policies, regulatory reporting and exams, as well as gaining a basic understanding of the controls of most of the Coverys business units. The role includes internal client interaction, hands on experience with the internal audit monitoring and testing of an insurance organization, and exposure to enterprise and vendor risk management

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management teams with various projects.
• Support and document monitoring and testing of various company processes and procedures.
• Support the team monitoring project progress and status.
• Prepare for meetings with clients for the purpose of planning, testing, and reporting.
• Partner with department representatives as necessary to identify required regulatory reports and deadlines.
• Develop Compliance Department slides, presentations, and content for the internal department SharePoint site.
• Support the development and maintenance of internal risk registers and control mapping
• Assist with management of vendor goverance

Education, Requirements, and Competencies

• Organization skills to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and network effectively in a team environment.
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality on sensitive projects
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Keen attention to detail
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
