Compliance Engineering is a global team of more than 300 engineers and scientists who work on the most complex, mission-critical problems. We build and operate a suite of platforms and applications that prevent, detect, and mitigate regulatory and reputational risk across the firm.

Our engineers have access to the latest technology and massive amounts of structured and unstructured data, leveraging modern frameworks to build responsive, intuitive front-end and Big Data applications. The firm is making a significant investment to uplift and rebuild the Compliance application portfolio.

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Vice President (VP), Full-Stack Engineer to join our technology team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and technical execution. You will be responsible for architecting, designing, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance full-stack applications.

As a VP-level engineer, you will maintain a strong hands-on presence—actively writing code, contributing to system and application design, reviewing implementations, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering excellence across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). You will partner closely with business, product, and engineering stakeholders to build modern platforms that are reliable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards, drawing on your architecture and design background to strengthen technical solutions.

Experience in Generative AI, machine learning, and Large Language Model (LLM) integrations is expected for this role to help build intelligent, AI-enabled engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Architecture

• System Design: Architect and design robust, scalable, and secure full-stack applications, microservices, and APIs that align with enterprise standards.
• Technology Strategy: Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends (including AI-assisted development) to continuously modernize our frontend and backend tech stack.
• Standards & Governance: Establish and enforce coding standards, architectural principles, and security best practices across frontend and backend systems.
• Design Decisions: Bring a strong architecture and design background to modular design, integration patterns, security, performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

2. Hands-on Engineering

• Full-Stack Development: Write clean, maintainable, and high-performance code across both frontend user interfaces and backend services using Java, Spring Boot, React or Angular, and Python.
• Backend Development: Design and implement scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• ETL Pipeline Engineering: Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT workflows using Spring Batch. This includes configuring components for complex data transformations and high-volume ingestion.
• API Design & Security: Develop and secure RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange between internal systems and external partners, ensuring low latency and high availability.
• Database Management: Optimize database schemas, queries, and data pipelines across relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
• AI & Intelligent Automation: Apply hands-on experience in Generative AI, machine learning, and large language model (LLM) integrations to build intelligent features, automate workflows, and enhance user and operational outcomes.

3. Team Mentorship & Collaboration

• Mentorship: Mentor engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence, strong design thinking, continuous learning, and operational discipline.
• Code Reviews: Participate in and lead code reviews and technical design discussions to improve quality, maintainability, and consistency across teams.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into sound technical designs and delivery plans.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education & Experience

• Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in full-stack engineering, architecture, or related roles, with a strong track record of building enterprise-grade applications and implementing large-scale, enterprise-level data solutions.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.

Technical Skills

• Backend Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for building scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services.
• Spring Ecosystem: Deep proficiency in Spring Boot and Spring Batch. Must understand job partitioning, multi-threaded steps, and fault-tolerance policies (skip/retry).
• Frontend Expertise: Strong front-end development experience using React or Angular to build responsive, user-focused web applications.
• Python Development: Solid Python development experience for automation, services, scripting, analytics workflows, or platform enablement.
• AI & Machine Learning: Hands-on experience with Generative AI, machine learning, and LLM-based solutions, including practical use of AI APIs, prompt-driven workflows, intelligent automation, or AI-enabled application features.
• Architecture & Design: Strong architecture and design background, with knowledge of microservices, API design, secure coding, and distributed systems patterns.
• Messaging & Streaming: Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures and messaging-based integrations using technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ for real-time data triggers.
• SQL Mastery: Advanced SQL and database skills, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning across SQL and NoSQL technologies.
