About the Role

The Director of Compliance is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing Ketjen’s global ethics and compliance program. This includes ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards, while embedding a strong culture of integrity across the organization.

This role will leverage and integrate Albemarle’s established compliance infrastructure into Ketjen’s operations to strengthen overall compliance capabilities. The position serves as a strategic business partner to leadership, is located in Ketjen's Clear Lake (Houston, TX office), and reports to the General Counsel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Governance

  • Design and manage Ketjen’s ethics and compliance governance framework and controls
  • Advise on region-specific regulatory requirements
  • Review and update the Company’s Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures
  • Partner with functions to embed ethics and compliance controls into governance processes

Training, Guidance & Communications

  • Assess and enhance compliance training programs, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Promote a culture of compliance and risk-based decision-making with shared accountability
  • Serve as a business partner to functional and regional leaders on compliance matters
  • Lead communications reinforcing leadership’s commitment to ethical standards

Risk Management

  • Maintain and align the compliance risk assessment with the enterprise risk framework
  • Identify key risks and implement practical mitigation strategies and controls
  • Oversee third-party due diligence programs (suppliers, JV partners, distributors, etc.)

Analytics, Metrics, Monitoring, Investigations & Audit

  • Oversee compliance analytics, metrics, and monitoring programs
  • Define and track KPIs to measure program effectiveness; report to senior leadership and advisory board
  • Lead Code of Conduct investigations and manage investigation framework
  • Support internal audit activities related to compliance and ethics

External Engagement

  • Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and ensure required disclosures
  • Track regulatory changes and ensure internal awareness and alignment
  • Represent Ketjen in relevant industry groups and compliance forums

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • 10+ years of experience in ethics, compliance, and risk management
  • Deep knowledge of global compliance frameworks and regulations, including:
    • Anti-bribery and anti-corruption (FCPA, UK Bribery Act)
    • Antitrust/competition laws
    • Third-party risk (AML, fraud, sanctions, modern slavery, conflict minerals)
  • Experience designing and leading global compliance programs
  • Strong alignment with Ketjen’s core values: curiosity, care, collaboration, humility, accountability, and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCEP, CRCM or similar)
  • Experience in the chemicals or related industrial industry
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organizations
