CRH are currently hiring a Compliance Counsel to join our team. The role of Compliance Counsel is a newly created role, working directly with the Compliance team and reporting to the Senior Compliance Counsel.

The role will work as part of the wider Legal & Compliance Function in the implementation and management of the Global Compliance Program. CRH culture puts people at the centre of everything we do. Career development is fully supported to enable further progression.

This role will be based primarily in Dublin, in the Group Headquarters at Stonemasons Way.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Support: As part of a wider team, supporting the design and implementation of the Global Compliance Program. Responsible for discrete areas of the Compliance Program, and associated reporting requirements. Horizon scanning across CRH’s footprint in respect of regulatory and compliance developments and stakeholder requirements. Provides thought leadership for CRH’s compliance efforts generally by staying up to date with compliance industry best practices and changes in laws and regulations, to ensure continuous improvement of the Global Compliance Program as appropriate for a NYSE listed company with a global presence. Monitors and develops the effectiveness of the Compliance Program.
  • Business Support and Cross-Functional collaboration: Supporting the business and Group functions on legal issues relevant to the Global Compliance Program and addressing changes in the law that impact CRH’s business. Working with the business to develop and improve the Global Compliance Program.
  • Policy Development: Develop and manage Global Compliance policies.
  • Compliance Initiatives: Collaborating in the management of customized compliance initiatives on a global basis to address stakeholder requirements and regulatory and compliance developments in areas such as competition/antitrust, data privacy, cyber, AI, bribery, fraud, international tradeand whistleblowing.
  • Investigations: Supporting the management of hotline reporting and investigations as appropriate.
  • Training: Contributing to the design and delivery of relevant Compliance training.

Experience and Education:

You are/have:

  • A qualified lawyer with ~3 to 5 years’ experience including experience of working in-house, or interfacing with a PLC or large multinational, or in a law firm, with regulatory compliance and/or litigation/investigatory experience.
  • A proven ability to upskill in different areas of law and/orinternational regulatory frameworks.
