Job Description

Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization that serves the Episcopal Church, located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.
The part-time Compliance Coordinator- Corporate Finance will assist theCorporate Finance- Compliance Delegate regarding all compliance matters of the Corporate Finance Department.Thisincludes the following:
  • understanding compliance requirements and monitoring developments
  • monitoring compliance with governmental filings, reporting, notices, and other similar requirements
  • identifying compliance risks and leading efforts to mitigate the most significant compliance risks
  • ensuring Corporate Finance policies and procedures are up-to-date
  • ensuring Corporate Finance employees are trained and have access to information, including policies and procedures pertaining to compliance matters
  • responding and reporting of non-compliance events
  • participating in enterprise-wide compliance efforts
This is a part-time position, 3-days a week (Hybrid schedule. Flexible on which days are worked)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Understanding compliance requirements and monitoring developments. Understanding the benefit plans, laws, regulations, contracts, enterprise policies and other obligations that apply to CPG’s products and services, as well as identifying and responding to new developments in compliance requirements (e.g., new or changes to benefit plans, laws, regulations, contracts, enterprise policies and other obligations).
  • Monitoring compliance with governmental filings, reporting, notices, and other similar requirements. Ensuring that Corporate Finance prepares, processes and submits all necessary governmental filings, reports, notices, etc., after obtaining all necessary information. This will include providing or arranging training and oversight to ensure that those employees within Corporate Finance understand and carry out their compliance responsibilities.
  • Identifying compliance risks and leading efforts to mitigate the most significant compliance risks. Thinking strategically about current and future compliance risks and evaluating ways to mitigate those risks, taking into account the magnitude and potential impact of the risks as well as best practices. Working with appropriate employees within Corporate Finance to develop, document and implement a compliance plan to mitigate the most significant compliance risks.
  • Ensuring Corporate Finance policies and procedures are up-to-date. Arranging for appropriate policies and procedures to be prepared (and revised as appropriate) to ensure that compliance requirements are satisfied. Ensuring that appropriate employees throughout CPG are consulted during the preparation of policies and procedures, where applicable. Periodically monitoring Corporate Finance employees’ compliance with compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring Corporate Finance employees are trained and have access to information, including policies and procedures pertaining to compliance matters. Ensuring that all relevant employees within Corporate Finance are informed about, trained and given access to information they need to ensure compliance with the benefit plans, laws, regulations, contracts, enterprise policies and other obligations.
  • Responding to non-compliance events Encouraging employees within Corporate Finance to report instances of non-compliance events and responding to those non-compliance events, with assistance from the three (3) Corporate Finance Secondary Compliance Coordinators. Promptly reporting instances of non-compliance events to the Corporate Finance – Compliance Delegate.
  • Engaging as an active participant in enterprise-wide compliance efforts. Contributing to and participating in quarterly compliance coordinator meetings as well as attending Compliance Committee meetings as needed.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite- SharePoint
  • Experience or background in regulatory matters is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of handling varied administrative responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ yrs of relevant compliance experience
  • BA/BS is preferred. Combination of work and education considered
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Currently, hybrid work environment, which requires working in CPG’s office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Hourly Rate Range: $65.00 - $80.00 based on experience
