Under the direction of the Assistant General Counsel, the Compliance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating incoming compliance department inquiries and requests, and for coordinating various ongoing tasks and new compliance and legal process initiatives. The Compliance Coordinator will also function as the contract management system liaison and technical expert.

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Review incoming compliance inquiries and requests, and assist with routing and handling as directed by the Assistant General Counsel
  • Establish and identify key players within the company for compliance and legal process initiatives
  • Coordinate compliance and legal process initiatives by tracking progress, scheduling meetings, and facilitating interdepartmental and intradepartmental communication with key players
  • Keep internal stakeholders informed regarding deadlines, turnaround targets, and status updates
  • Assist in managing the contract management system for the Compliance department
  • Provide additional coordination for other Compliance related tasks as requested, including certain licensure and regulatory filings
  • Coordinate the integration of company affiliate compliance related policies and procedures, as well as with the creation of new policies and procedures as directed by the Assistant General Counsel.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Healthcare or health insurance industry experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal regulations governing employee benefits

Preferred Experience Requirements:

  • Health plan administration, employee benefits, or benefit plan compliance in the healthcare industry

Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel or similar PC based programs
  • Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Detail oriented, analytical and accurate
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently and accurately in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of the team
  • Ability to work within specified timeframes and meet deadlines
