About us:

At WM New Zealand, we are the largest composter, the largest waste-to-energy provider and have the largest commercial electric fleet in New Zealand, all powered by electricity from waste. As a team, we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to redirect, neutralise and use waste.

We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Compliance Coordinator to join our high-performing team in Hastings.

About the role

We’re keen to discuss this position with professionals who thrive on the challenge of attaining operational performance excellence and retaining and developing business over the longer term both with existing stakeholders and with prospective clients.

Qualifications

About you

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business administration and/or logistics.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety advisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Proven leadership, people management and team working skills.
  • Moderate experience within the transport/waste/logistics and recycling industries is desirable.
  • Exemplary communication skills and the ability to deal at all organisational levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite Reasonably developed mechanical aptitude desirable.
  • Current New Zealand driver’s licence.

To succeed, at your disposal you will have your direct report support team and wider operational team that includes office administration, supervisors and a mix of company and contracted operators. In this role, you will also be part of the regional leadership team and a strong corporate business that is recognised as one of the industry leaders.
