Regulatory Compliance

Ebury São Paulo Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week

Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations applicable to the financial market, for monitoring and reporting regulatory deviations, and for maintaining a good relationship with regulatory bodies, acting as the 2nd line of defense and ensuring that the Institution operates in compliance with the rules of the Central Bank of Brazil and other competent authorities.

This position requires a strong regulatory focus. The ideal candidate must demonstrate deep knowledge of the regulations of the Brazilian financial system, particularly the rules issued by the Central Bank of Brazil, the National Monetary Council, and other competent authorities. Proactivity in monitoring regulatory changes and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for business areas are expected, ensuring that the Institution is always in compliance and prepared for interactions with regulators.

What you’ll do

  • Manage internal documents and provide technical support to other less senior employees for their preparation and updating.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team in evaluating laws and regulations applicable to the Institution.
  • Respond to demands from regulatory bodies in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support Compliance management in ensuring that areas and other employees fulfill their regulatory obligations.
  • Support Compliance management in ensuring observance of the Code of Ethics and in addressing complaints received through internal and external reporting channels.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain policies and procedure manuals related to Compliance, as well as provide technical guidance to the team on the subject.
  • Act as the 2nd line of defense in Regulatory Risk assessments.
  • Prepare and manage the delivery of Compliance/Code of Ethics training.
  • Conduct regulatory compliance tests and monitor resulting action plans.
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests related to Compliance matters.
  • Support the Board/Group in implementing strategic and/or operational decisions that have an impact on Governance or regulatory impact.
  • Support Compliance management in aligning local policies and processes with Group policies and processes.
  • Be able to assist and clarify questions from employees regarding matters within the scope of the Compliance area.
  • Propose improvements to the area's processes and support Compliance management in their implementation.

What you’ll need

General Knowledge:

  • Understanding of national and international laws and regulations related to the financial market.
  • Understanding of regulatory bodies' processes and comm
  • Understanding of compliance and professional ethics principles necessary to handle sensitive and confidential matters related to ethics and conduct
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies used for managing Compliance activities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English & Portuguese
  • Degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics or Foreign Trade

Specific Knowledge:

  • Experience in assessing the applicability of regulations governing the foreign exchange market
  • Experience in responding to demands from the Central Bank of Brazil, including its deadlines and procedures
