Compliance Field Technician – Travel Position w/ Tanknology

Applicants must live within 60 minutes of advertised city to be considered.

Tanknology, a United Uptime Services Company, a fast-growing leader in the petroleum services industry, is looking for experienced, energetic, hardworking Field Service Technician Apprentice. As a Field Service Technician, you will learn through an apprenticeship style program until you are certified. In this role you will work on various job sites, performing testing, installations, and repairs while using our proprietary software, TANCS, to record your findings.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct site assessments and surveys
  • Perform leak tests on fuel storage tanks and piping systems
  • Install equipment and test tank gauge systems
  • Enter and analyze test results, communicating findings to the Operations team
  • Manage and report inventory of parts and supplies on your company vehicle

What We’re Looking For

  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in trades (HVAC, plumbing, mechanics, electricians, carpenters, or cable technicians preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks (stooping, bending, kneeling)
  • Comfortable climbing 20 ft extension ladders multiple times daily
  • Basic computer skills for data entry
  • Effective communication skills
  • Passion for Safety: A commitment to safety is non-negotiable. You'll prioritize safety in all aspects of your work, ensuring a secure environment for yourself and your team.
  • Hands-On Attitude: You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. Whether it's lifting heavy equipment or troubleshooting complex issues, you're up for the challenge.
  • Desire to Build:  You're not just looking for a job – you're eager to be part of something bigger. You have a keen interest in helping to build and shape our branch from the ground up, contributing to its success and growth.
  • Customer Service Driven: Available to be on call and capable of completing all work efficiently while maintaining strong client relationships
  • Ability to travel across multiple states, occasionally staying overnight (hotel and generous per diem provided)
  • A Strong Educational Foundation: High school diploma or GED required
  • Pre-Employment Testing: Must pass drug test, background, physical, and MVR check.

- Fuel station service and dispenser repair, including Gilbarco Encore

- Compliance, inspection-ready testing, calibration, and vapor recovery testing

- Tank monitoring and ATG support, including Veeder-Root

- Containment sump and sensor alarm response

- Light-duty construction and heavy maintenance

- EV charging installation

- Site monitoring, triage, and remote insight in non-footprint regions
