We are looking for technically excellent Compliance lawyers who are enthusiastic about compliance and investigation; and interested in an international practice to join our Litigation, Regulatory & Tax team based in Beijing. The ideal candidate would possess:
Qualifications and Experience
Flexible PQE but ideally at around 4PQE.
Experience in Multilateral Development Bank investigations and familiarity with cases involving the sanctionable practices regimes of MDBs. Knowledgeable in establishment and enhancement of Integrity Compliance Programme in accordance with MDBs requirements would be an advantage.
Knowledgeable in compliance advisory for corporates, e.g., international regulations on anti-bribery / data privacy, competition / cybersecurity / anti-money laundering etc.
Experience in scoping investigations, navigating privacy and data transfer laws, and conducting internal investigations, e.g., reviewing data, conducting interviews, drafting investigations reports.
PRC and foreign legal qualifications (highly preferred).
Law degree from a top law school in the PRC and internationally.
Key Skills
Strong bilingual drafting skills with particular focus in English drafting.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin.
Be technically excellent but, equally important, commercially aware, and enthusiastic about business development to continue to grow the compliance and investigation practice.
Positive in outlook; sociable; a team player but with a desire to work autonomously too; ambitious and wanting to progress to be a leader in their field; and a person who works hard when needed but who also has outside interests
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong MS Office skills.
Good listening and critical thinking skills.
