Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Compliance and Audit Analyst in the hotel industry ensures that the hotel operates within the legal and regulatory framework set by the government and industry bodies. This role involves developing and implementing compliance policies, monitoring adherence to regulations, and providing guidance on legal and regulatory matters to protect the hotel's reputation and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure the hotel complies with all relevant local laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on new and changing laws and regulations affecting the hotel industry.
  1. Policy Development:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure policies are effectively communicated and understood across all levels of the hotel staff.

3.Monitoring and Auditing:

  • Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.
  • Monitor internal controls and systems to ensure they are effective and incompliance with legal standards.

4.Training and Education:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance-related topics.
  • Ensure ongoing awareness and understanding of compliance requirements among all staff.

5.Incident Management:

  • Investigate and respond to compliance incidents and breaches.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

6.Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit required compliance reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of compliance activities and incidents

7.Collaboration:

  • Work closely with hotel management, legal advisors, and other departments to ensure compliance integration into all hotel operations.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors.

8.Risk Management:

  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
  • Develop and implement action plans to mitigate compliance risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Auditing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Compliance, Internal Audit, or Regulatory roles, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and standards within the hotel industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
