Plans and coordinates operational activities to assist with compliance of governmental regulations and Children’s policies. Conducts internal monitoring activities pursuant to the corporate compliance program to review specific functional areas of compliance with applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and compliance program requirements. Coordinates compliance projects to promote the system’s compliance program and strategy.

Experience

  • 3 years of experience in a legal, regulatory, and/or healthcare environment with direct experience in understanding and implementing government regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated presentation skills preferred

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field required

Certification Summary

  • No professional certifications required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of compliance, auditing, and monitoring techniques
  • Ability to research and analyze regulatory issues that may arise in the Compliance Office
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and healthcare laws and regulations related to compliance issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

  • Must be organized, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple, unrelated tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong sense of accountability
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, including service recovery and problem solving

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports development and execution of annual auditing and monitoring plans based on identified risk areas to promote adherence to applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and compliance program requirements.
  • Tracks corrective action plans for completion and conducts follow-up with management.
  • Facilitates resolution of complaints, concerns, appeals, and grievances relative to compliance issues by answering calls and working with appropriate departments.
  • Maintains files on each concern and its resolution in the Compliance Office.
  • Assists with responses to inquiries by governmental agencies and other payors.
  • Collaborates with appropriate personnel for the development, review, and implementation of compliance-related policies, procedures, educational initiatives, or workflows relating to clinical, billing, coding, or other activities pertinent to the Compliance Program.
  • Conducts and/or assists with investigations of reported or identified allegations of violations.
  • Conducts and/or assists in special projects to promote the system's compliance program and strategy.
  • Develops, analyzes, inputs, and maintains the Compliance Office database.
