Are you an experienced Disability Support Worker looking for a role where you can build a genuine connection with a participant while working as part of a supportive 2:1 team?
We’re looking for an experienced Male Support Worker to support a participant living in Landsborough.
This is a 2:1 support environment, with two Support Workers providing support at all times. The role is suited to someone who is calm, resilient and confident supporting complex behaviours, while also enjoying an active and community-focused role.
This is an active support role where no two shifts are necessarily the same.
The participant enjoys music, singing and walking, and community access is an important part of her routine. You should be comfortable with long walks of 6km or more during shifts and be prepared to remain active throughout the day.
Swimming is also a regular activity, with Support Workers required to be comfortable getting in the water and swimming alongside the participant when supporting this activity.
The participant responds well to calm, patient communication and workers who take the time to understand her needs.
You’ll also provide support with daily routines, personal care, household tasks and community participation while helping to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
This is a high-support environment suited to experienced Support Workers who are confident, resilient and understand the importance of consistency.
You’ll work alongside another Support Worker as part of a 2:1 support team, with support from experienced Team Leaders and Case Managers.
A strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans is important for this role.
If you enjoy building genuine connections, working as part of a team and supporting someone to get out into the community and enjoy the things they love, this could be a great opportunity to use your experience in a meaningful role.
