Complex Behavioural Disability Support Worker

We currently have multiple roles for Support Workers with experience working with Complex Behavioural issues to work in a team to provide immediate support for our participants. In this role you will work in a 2:1 format to deliver specialized support for high medical and physical needs, ensuring dignity and independence are maintained through expert clinical guidance.

If you have experience with Complex supports like extreme impairment, working in SIL homes or with Challenging Behaviors, we want to hear from you too. We provide a variety of support services and can offer other shifts during the day and evening to fill out your schedule.

  • Hours: Afternoon from 1:00PM

Our normal shifts are generally between 6am and 10pm at night. Please advise your availability as we have multiple participants looking for support services.

  • Schedule Monday to Friday, Weekends highly desirable
  • Location: Blacktown area
  • Rate: L2 P1 - $45.28 Cert 3 in individual supports or community service
  • L2 P2 - $46.70 Cert 4 or higher in individual supports or community service
  • Allowances Fuel, Broken shift and overtime rates.
  • Start: ASAP

Mandatory Checks:

  • Minimum Cert III (Individual Support/Disability).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current First Aid/CPR.
  • Driver’s License & Insured Vehicle.
  • NDIS Orientation Module.

Highly desirable experience or at least be comfortable and willing to be trained in:

  • Enteral feeding (PEG, Mickey button, tube feeding).
  • Epilepsy management.
  • Medication administration.
  • Catheter care.
  • Experience supporting non-verbal participants, including behaviors and use of AT communication devices (not essential but highly desirable).
  • Personal care and manual handling.
  • Working in SIL homes.

Requirements:

  • Managing Complex Behavioural issues - Familiar with processes and rules.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Emotional Resilience & Regulation to help de-escalate situations and provide a sense of safety for the participants.
  • Ability to observe and report on potential safety issues.
  • High-Level Adaptive Communication skills to develop connections, show care and support. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Professional empathy, compassion, and a collaborative approach. Foster a positive and supportive environment.
  • Ability to work in a 30km radius of Penrith and Blacktown.
  • Ability to work shifts ranging from 2 - 6 hours, potentially multiple shifts per day across a variety of participants and shift types.
