Summary

Coach and supervise competitive team athletes during practices, competitions, camps, clinics, and other team events. Support program goals and contribute to the growth and success of the competitive team program at all levels. Provide instruction and support on all Olympic gymnastics events, including vault, bars, beam, floor, and conditioning.

  • Ability to actively lift, spot, and assist athletes safely during training and skill development.
  • Develop and implement practice plans that promote skill progression, safety, confidence, and competitive success.
  • Evaluate athlete performance and provide professional but constructive feedback to athletes and parents when appropriate.
  • Commit to the entirety of the competitive season and fulfill all coaching obligations throughout the season.
  • Be available for Apex staff development and scheduled meetings.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment and report injuries, incidents, concerns, promptly to management.
  • Work collaboratively with other coaches to ensure consistency across all competitive team levels.
  • Assist with athlete evaluations, team placements, and season planning.

Examples of duties

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum 2 years of competitive gymnastics coaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of gymnastics safety standards, skill progressions, and athlete development.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of competitive gymnastics coaching experience.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.

Supplemental information

Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings.

Physical Activity(s):

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the gym environment for the duration of scheduled practices and events.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
