The Opportunity
As a Competitive Insights Consultant, you will develop enterprise-level perspectives on the competitive environment and translate complex market and product dynamics into clear, decision-ready narratives.You will synthesize insights across sources, and help leaders assess competitive positioning, emerging risks, and opportunities.
This role partners closely with Product, Distribution,andCorporateStrategyto deliver perspectives that are actionable and impactful.We are lookingfor a strong problem-solver who brings structured thinking, synthesis, and executive storytelling, and who either brings deepexpertisein insurance and financial services markets or is eager to build it
The Team
Strategic Intelligence sits within Corporate Strategy and the CFO organization, helping the enterprise make informed decisions throughtimely, high-quality external insights.The teamidentifiesand interprets emerging industry, market, and competitive trends, translating them into enterprise perspectives that shape strategy.

The Impact
Enterprise Perspective & Narrative Development
Develop a cohesive view of the competitive landscape and its strategic implications
Tailor narratives to the decisions senior stakeholders areactually making
Create actionable outputs that inform and influence decisions
Insight Generation & Strategic Interpretation
Identifypatterns and trends across competitor activity, market developments, and industry shifts
Broaden leadership understanding of opportunities, risks, and strategic choices
Lead forward-looking analyses toanticipatechanges in the competitive environment
Senior Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
Contribute to leadership discussions with clear, well-supported perspectives
Communicate findingsin a way that builds trust and advances discussion
Build strong relationships across Product, Distribution, andCorporateStrategy
Function Leadership & Integration
Partner with Market and Consumer Insights to connect competitive, market, and customer dynamics
Help evolve Competitive Insights capabilities, including publications, frameworks, and engagement models
Mentor junior team members and rotational analysts
Data & Analytical Foundation
Leverage industry data sources such as LIMRA, AM Best, S&P, and internal datasets
Ensure analytical rigor supports all narratives and recommendations
Collaborate with partners tomaintainaccess to key data and insights
Strategic Partnership Enablement
Build andmaintaincompetitive profiles ofkey accountsandstrategic partners
Identifyareas of strategic alignment for prospective partnerships
Prepare briefing content and coordinateinteractionswith external parties
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
4+ years of relevant experience in corporateor businessstrategy, insights, market research, equity research, or consulting
Ideal Qualifications
6+ years of relevant experience; background ininsurance,financial services, oradvisingfinancial services clients is a plus
Graduate degree or professional designation relevant to the role
Proven ability toturncomplex, ambiguous analysis into a clearpoint of viewand anarrative that lands with senior executives
Demonstrated ability to introduceadditionalperspectives and help shape discussions constructively
Working knowledge of life insurance, annuity, or retirement products; willingness tobuild depth quickly
Familiarity with industry data sources (e.g., LIMRA, AM Best, S&P) and reporting practices
Strong analytical skills combined with sound business judgmentability to synthesize disparate inputs into coherent perspectives andidentifyimplications for strategy
Strong ownership mentality with the ability tooperateindependentlyand todrive high-impact workstreams
Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams
Prior experience mentoring or developing junior team members
