Job Description

We are looking for a Competence Administrator to join our Compliance & Competence team.

In this role, you will help strengthen the skills and competence of our seafarers through engaging learning experiences and targeted development initiatives. Working closely with stakeholders across the organization, you will support programs that advance maritime careers and encourage continuous learning and growth.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The position coordinates the planning and delivery of training activities and competence-related processes for seafarers. It brings together internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to organize programs, align content with operational and regulatory requirements, and support consistent implementation. The role also assists with follow-up and evaluation to keep initiatives relevant, practical, and responsive to the evolving needs of seafarers and the organization.

TASKS:

The Competence Administrator—

  • Delivers and facilitates onboarding and leadership training for new hires, ratings, and junior officers
  • Manages and organizes course portfolios within the learning system
  • Creates engaging and interactive learning environments that encourage participation and support knowledge retention
  • Facilitates classroom-based, virtual, and blended learning activities
  • Evaluates training effectiveness and identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Maintains competence frameworks, training records, and related documentation
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop, review, and update learning materials and training resources
  • Develops presentations, learning guides, and other educational materials
  • Monitors participant feedback and contributes to the ongoing improvement of learning solutions
  • Serves as an ambassador for the company's learning culture and competence development initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, learning and development, human resources, psychology, maritime studies, or a related field
  • Minimum of three years' relevant experience in training, competence development, education, or learning administration as a trainer, instructor, teacher, facilitator, lecturer, or learning and development professional
  • Basic understanding of leadership theories, employee development, and organizational learning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Collaborative, proactive, and people-oriented approach with a genuine interest in learning and development
