Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Compensation & Benefits Specialist to join our People & Culture team. Reporting to the P&C Director, you'll be the subject matter expert for compensation and benefits across Australia and New Zealand, partnering with Finance, commercial teams and external providers to deliver best-practice reward programs and payroll governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the key liaison with the outsourced payroll provider, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Oversee payroll-related compliance, superannuation, tax, workers compensation, reporting and HRIS data integrity.
  • Approve payroll inputs including employee movements, salary changes, bonuses and terminations.
  • Support payroll accounting, reconciliations, payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG/PAYE and statutory reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, taxation and payroll obligations.
  • Manage payroll reporting, analysis and month-end activities.
  • Support audits and external reporting requirements.
  • Support the maintenance of data integrity across Employment Hero, Hero Pay and SuccessFactors.
  • Lead annual remuneration activities including salary reviews, bonus and incentive programs, payroll budgeting and quarterly reforecasting.
  • Manage job evaluation, market benchmarking and remuneration analysis to ensure equitable and competitive reward practices.
  • Manage employee benefits administration, workforce reporting, WGEA and other annual compliance requirements.
  • Support broader People & Culture initiatives and projects as required.

About You

You'll bring:

  • Experience in compensation, benefits and payroll, ideally in a retail or multi-site environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation; New Zealand payroll experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with remuneration reviews, salary benchmarking and job evaluation.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capability.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Employment Hero, Hero Pay and/or SuccessFactors preferred).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
