Do you meet our minimum hiring standards?
Please check before applying.
Do you enjoy helping people overcome barriers, identify their goals, and build a plan for success? Are you resourceful, compassionate, and comfortable working with people during challenging transitions?
The Ada County Sheriff's Office is looking for a Community Transition Center Reentry Specialist to work with participants at the Community Transition Center (CTC). The CTC is a 108-bed facility serving individuals participating in the Community Transition and Scheduled Sentence programs—providing structured alternatives to traditional incarceration.
Alternative Sentencing programs allow individuals to serve court-ordered time while maintaining employment, accessing services, and preserving positive community connections. These programs promote accountability and successful reentry while helping reduce the use and cost of traditional incarceration.
As a CTC Reentry Specialist, you'll do much more than manage a caseload. You'll help participants prepare for successful transitions into the community by developing individualized case plans, connecting them with employment and treatment resources, addressing barriers, and helping them build skills for long-term success. You'll work alongside other Reentry Specialists, Deputies, courts, employers, treatment providers, and community partners. You'll serve as an important connection between participants, the criminal justice system, and community resources while helping individuals navigate their path toward successful reentry.
If you're looking for meaningful work where you can directly impact people's lives while supporting public safety, we'd love to meet you.
Experience in case management, reentry, corrections, workforce development, behavioral health, or human services is helpful, but we're also interested in candidates whose skills and experiences translate to this work.
Don't meet every preferred qualification?
We still encourage you to apply. Successful Reentry Specialists bring a combination of compassion, communication, problem-solving, organization, and a genuine desire to help people succeed. Specialized knowledge and systems can be learned—we're looking for someone ready to learn and make an impact.
Successful reentry doesn't happen by accident. It takes planning, accountability, opportunity, and people willing to help individuals navigate the challenges that come with returning to the community. As a Reentry Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to be one of those people. If you're ready for a career where you can help people build a path forward while contributing to a safer community, apply today.
