Job Location United Ability - Birmingham, AL 35211

$150 SIGN-ON BONUS AFTER COMPLETED TRAINING. UP TO AN ADDITIONAL $450 BONUS AFTER 6 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT. AN AVERAGE OF 16 HOURS PER WEEK.

Position is available to work 1-5 days a week (Monday-Friday). Work schedule between the hours of 7:30am-3:30pm-

United Ability, located in the Oxmoor area of Birmingham, is a program that provides a variety of services to adults with disabilities. We are currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Community Support Professional/Driver providing adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy various community activities including small group employment in local businesses. This position has the chance to teach on the go and explore all that our area has to offer. We encourage creativity and utilize a team, collaborative approach. Each day teaching and caring for these individuals in the community will allow you to see how much your work matters!

Collaborating with other team members, you will:

  • Plan, develop and carry out educational small group outings in a variety of community settings for adults with disabilities
  • Plan collaborate and implement community volunteer opportunities
  • Create curriculum and train adults with disabilities on a variety of skills
  • Transport adults into the community and oversee safety

Applicant general qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • CPR/First Aid Red Cross certificate (will obtain on-site after employment)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Successful completion of motor vehicle screening
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
