The Olathe Police Department is looking for our next Community Service Officer (CSO) to join our team. As a civilian CSO, you will have your own cases to investigate as well as being a vital resource to both our PD personnel and our community regarding police matters.
This position is a fully benefited to include KPERS retirement enrollment and 8 weeks Paid Parental Leave. This is a shift work position however does have a 4 day work week with 3 days off.
Salary Range: $49,400 - $55.097 depending on qualifications.
This position requires the completion of a polygraph examination and extensive background.
Interviews will be held the week of June 29th with invitation.
Polygraph exam will be held week of July 6th and/or July 13th. This assessment MUST BE in Person.

Experience and Education Guidelines: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
Licenses and/or Certifications:
Environmental Conditions: The Community Service Officer typically performs work in an office setting. Frequent exposure to computer screens and other electronic equipment can be expected. May be exposed to oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray. In rare cases, the instructor may be exposed to bio-hazardous materials, waste, weapons, high value items, narcotics, explosive, animals, and bodily fluids.
