Community Shuttle Driver

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Provide safe, reliable transportation; follow all driving policies and procedures; and maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license and PACE certification.

Location: Joliet, IL

Hours: Split Shift

Pay: $21.30/hour

NETWORK OR DEPARTMENT:

Community Day Services (Network 6)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Prioritize the safety and well-being of people transported to Trinity programs and community events
• The ability to utilize strong directional skills while operating a pace minivan
• Safely operate and follow procedures for wheelchair lifts, tie-downs, and other mobility equipment
• Strong verbal and open communication skills
• Works well independently and with others
• Knowledge of driving regulations and rules of the road
• Never operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or carrying substances or weapons

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to lift over 40 pounds unassisted (floor to waist).
• Ability to push and pull up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to perform deep knee squats.
• Ability to push wheelchairs weighing up to 200 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, and remain stationary for extended periods.
• Ability to operate motor vehicles safely.
• Perform physical tasks such as balancing, reaching, lifting, pulling, stooping, kneeling, and repetitive motion.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• An exceptional driving record
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Current driver’s license for at least 3 years
