Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: The Community Services County Coordinator is responsible for assisting low-income families in securing benefits available to them.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Contacts low-income people in the community to inform them of services currently available.
  • Assists with all agency operations in the service area.
  • Processes applications for any available benefits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess basic computer literacy skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
  • Background check/drug screen required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Community Action Council for Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison, and Nicholas Counties, Inc. works to address the causes and conditions of poverty locally.

As the designated community action agency for Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison and Nicholas counties, we create opportunities for individuals and families that assist them in becoming self-sufficient. To that end, the Council focuses its resources on child and youth development, family development (including social and economic self-sufficiency), employment strategies, health, transportation, safety net (emergency) services, housing services, economic development, technology, and volunteerism.

As we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the War on Poverty, we are pleased with the many accomplishments we have garnered, while openly cognizant of the challenges before us. Remaining informed of our purpose helps ensure that everything we do has the explicit goal of helping to move someone out of poverty and creating a livable community for all.
