MDOC is destigmatizing corrections for the betterment of all Maine communities. Through the ‘Maine Model of Corrections’, we promote the safety of our staff and residents while reducing barriers to meaningful rehabilitative opportunities. We facilitate restorative justice practices that equip justice-involved residents and clients with the skills they need to become contributing members of society upon release, including treatment, education, and job training.
Mountain View Correctional Facility is seeking a professional to oversee community services for our residents. The role involves organizing, directing, and coordinating these programs, with a focus on leveraging community resources for program development. This position works to collect data, assessing information, and providing recommendations on work release and furlough decisions.This position will work with community based services, programmings, and establishing relationships with potential community resource providers.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED (These are required to successfully perform the work assigned).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience).
-A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Public or Business Administration, one of the behavioral or social sciences, or closely related field and two (2) years' experience in corrections or closely related field. Experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
