Develop, coordinate, manage, and evaluate Campus Recreation’s 8-week summer camp for the Champaign Urbana community.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports and Community Programs, assist in the coordination and development of multiple community programs throughout the academic year.
Hire, train, evaluate, promote student community programs staff tasked with organizing and managing all community programs offerings.
Schedule, plan, and implement reservations for all community program offerings.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports and Community Programs, assist in the creation of community program policies, pricing packages, and employee handbooks.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports and Community Programs, assist in managing the community programs budget for staffing, marketing materials, outreach events, and equipment replacement plans.
Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and present new initiatives each summer.
Evaluate program satisfaction and needs assessment annually and implement strategies for retention and growth.
Attend, develop, and evaluate all trainings for community programs student staff.
Assist in the creation of the community programs calendar for each year.
Support the University of Illinois' commitment to child abuse prevention as a mandatory reporter.
Serve as primary back-up for payroll for all part-time staff within community programs.
Intramurals
Work closely with Assistant Director and Competitive Sports Coordinator to offer an inclusive, innovative, and accessible Intramural Activities program.
Assist with training, developing, evaluating, scheduling, managing, and promoting numerous part-time student staff positions.
Assist with planning, developing, scheduling, and maintaining a comprehensive Intramural Program.
Collaborate with other university and Campus Recreation departments for the successful implementation of new programming efforts.
Assist with coordination of program outreach efforts and initiate new campus partnerships.
Ensure department risk management plans are implemented effectively.
Club Sports
Assist as needed with Assistant Director and Coordinator of Competitive Sports to structure an organized and equitable Club Sport program.
Work cooperatively with Campus Recreation and Student Engagement staff to assist with administration of over 40 club sport teams as needed.
Collaborate with multiple different campus recreation departments to provide a cohesive club sports practice schedule.
Departmental Duties
Manage an annual budget for competitive sports and community programs.
Attend state and regional professional development conferences and workshops.
Support and engage with NIRSA sport tournaments for yearly professional development
Serve on Department, Division and/or University committees as assigned.
Manage special projects that support the overall mission of Campus Recreation.
Participate as a member of the Campus Recreation professional staff in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Participate in the development of programs, departmental objectives, and long-range planning by performing research, providing recommendations, and implementing plans as appropriate.
Follow University and department cash handling policies and procedures.
Enforce and maintain Campus Recreation policies and procedures as they pertain to usage of facilities on campus.
