RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with the Injury Prevention staff, to provide effective and comprehensive research based education to families in the community on child passenger safety (CPS). This person will utilize the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration guidelines for CPS education – selection, direction, location, installation, and harnessing. This person will work on a PRN basis to help Injury Prevention staff with child safety seat inspections and Safe Kids events throughout the community.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Experience in injury prevention education in a community health setting is preferred. Experience in public and/or educational presentations, individually or in groups, demonstrating effective communication skills is required. English/Spanish fluency is preferred. Child passenger safety technician certification within 6 months of hire is required. Must have at least 3 months experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
A valid Texas State DL operator’s license “Class C” and must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
