Position Purpose summary:
Community and Family Service support work is focused on supporting, promoting, and enhancing well-being of individuals and families as well as assisting immediate need of clients, donors, and guests through our programs.
The Community Ministry Supervisor will provide general support to ensure dinner program at the Centre of Hope is run efficiently, mirroring the current lunch program.
Accountabilities:
Client Services:
Work in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities.
Willing to facilitate spiritual care of staff and guests, including leading grace for meals at Center of Hope.
Gives support to all community ministries programs which include:
- Centre of Hope Programs
- Lunch and dinner programs
- Family Services Programs,
- Third-Party Administration,
- Income Tax,
- Christmas Campaign
- Other as required
Ensures ministry objectives are consistently accomplished and that a mission focus is applied to all program initiatives

PUBLIC RELATIONS:
Provides visibility for The Salvation Army by maintaining positive relations within the community through public through Community Network Committees
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL:
Ensure that proper safety precautions and hygiene standards are followed including Universal Precautions.
Ensures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen, foodbank, dining room and food storage areas including removing kitchen & dining room waste.
Demonstrate a high standard of personal hygiene.
May be required to ensure that the building is secure and that safety standards are met or exceeded at all times.
Participate in monthly workplace inspections and staff meetings

Education, Experience, AND Qualifications:
Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.

Ability to provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required, including Child Check (if appropriate).

Skills and Capabilities:
PHYSICAL EFFORT/DEXTERITY REQUIRED:
The performance of the job requires a moderated amount of loading/unloading vehicles, sorting donated goods, computer work, and record & database maintenance & intervening in physical confrontations. The incumbent is required to lift more than 20 pounds.
CONCENTRATION REQUIRED:
The performance of the job requires attentive listening (empathy to clients/volunteers/co-workers), ability to give directions or guidance, and attention to computer work.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $48,048.00 to $60,070.40 with a maximum of $72,072.00.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
